Sygun Copper Mine

The Slate Caverns

Conwy Valley Museum & Model Shop

Lots to enjoy at Betws-y-Coed Railway Complex.

During the season and weekends there will be a steam engine pulling the train - at other times a diesel engine will be in service. For a different view of the site take the fifteen inch gauge electric tramcar - the only one in Wales.

Browse our well stocked model shop with a large selection of trains including Hornby sets and accessories, die cast cars and planes, Airfix model kits and railway books.

The museum is accessible to the disabled.

Llanfair Slate Caverns/Farm Park

Enjoy a day out at the Children’s farm and Llanfair Slate Caverns during your stay in North Wales.

Children will enjoy feeding the lambs and holding baby rabbits, and will be entertained by the playful baby goats. We also have a soft play shed, go karts and other play equipment for them to enjoy. After visiting the farm you can take a self-guided tour of the old slate mines and learn about working conditions at the turn of the 20th century.

Enjoy views of the Cambrian coastline with coffee and a cake in the cafe to end you day.

Snowdon Mountain Railway

Let Snowdon Mountain Railway take you on the journey of a lifetime to the rooftop of Wales. Snowdon, at 1085m, dominates the landscape of the Snowdonia National Park.

From the first views of the waterfall plunging into the gorge below at the start of the journey, to the breath-taking sights over the sheer edge of Rocky Valley, every moment is memorable.

On a clear day you can see Ireland, England, Scotland and the Isle of Man from Hafod Eryri, the UK’s highest visitor centre. Two services are available, the Heritage Steam Experience and Traditional Diesel Service.
